Early Monday morning (08/05/19), I jumped on the East River Ferry, towards 34th Street, hopped off, walked towards Park Avenue.  It was a brilliant sunny day - lunched with new friends near Madison Square Park - by the way, "ShakeShack," was still crowded despite renovations.

Christchurch and Winter in New Zealand

Kia Ora! Christchurch is a beautiful city, situated in the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand. It has a very diverse population, each maintaining their own heritage even though this large city's origin is English. So Canterbury and Christchurch is ideal for the tourist. My thoughts and prayers are for the people of New Zealand. I am especially sad as both my grandchildren were born in Auckland. Christchurch is home to a high school friend of mine with whom I grew up in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. I am sentimental and wear a kiwi charm that dangles from a black string around my neck that my older son and his family sent me from Auckland. Air New Zealand is one of my favorite airlines as well.
