Auckland is on my Mind in April 2022
Even though times have been difficult and I have had to cancel my booked flight to Auckland, I'm still thinking of making that trip to Auckland. I was supposed to stop in Auckland before proceeding to Sydney to visit my grandchildren. It's been a very disappointing 2020. I am eager to welcome 2021. Are you? So plan to travel,

Time to take on some good old shopping
It's getting cool in Auckland but it's pretty warm in Indianapolis.
The temp is 11 Celcius which here it's around 75 Fahrenheit
How about getting some hoodies and slight sweaters?

Wharariki Beach, South Island, NZ
Kia Ora!! I came across a picture of this pristine beach in South Island, NZ on Bing. It looks very inviting and I am dreaming of making it there in the near future. Wharariki Beach, the Archway Islands, is at the northern most point of South Island; west of Cape Farewell.
Got to see it and believe it.

Rangiwhakaoma - Castlepoint Lighthouse
As you know, "Castlepoint is a small beachside town on the Wairarapa coast of the Wellington Region of the North Island of New Zealand. It happens to be home to a lighthouse that stands near the top of the northern end of a reef. Per Bing, this lighthouse is in an area the indigenous Maori people call "Rangiwhakaoma." Castlepoint is approximately a one-hour drive from Masterton. The reef is about one kilometer long. At the southern end of the reef, there is an island known locally as "seagull island", due to its large population of seagulls. The southern side of Castle Rock is known as Christmas Bay. Contemporary Maori Culture
Now that I am sure I will be traveling to Australia again, I am glad I will be able to stop in Auckland, New Zealand, the place of birth of my two grandchildren.
I'm very interested in contemporary Maori culture which is rich. The indigenous people are so beautiful. Interestingly, they embrace Eastern Polynesian culture.
Maori is a hospitable society. Besides eye-catching garments, skin tattoos, their hair is very similar to that of people in southern India (that's my observation).

Happy New Year 2020
Happy New Year y'all!!
With regards to my trip to Sydney, Australia, I now have a definite date and got my ticket to fly out of USA on May 7, 2020.
Fortunately, it includes a layover in Auckland, New Zealand!! I am so excited. My younger sister from the U K is arriving a few hours ahead of me in Sydney.
I am sad, however. Wildlife have suffered because of the wildfires in some areas of NSW, Australia.
As it will be quite cool all of May in Sydney, I have decided to not put away my winter apparel. Take a look at this:
